Anusarn Market is cheaper and more relaxed than the famous Kalare Night Market and Night Bazaar on the same street, it is also further down the road than these two better known markets and for this reason gets less visitors.

Following recent improvement work, Anusarn Market is now mostly covered by a roof which means it is somewhere you can visit even if it’s rainy, unlike the popular Sunday Night Walking Street in Old Town which occasionally gets stopped by the weather because it is an open air market.

Some of what is sold Anusarn Market is the same as you find at market stalls across Thailand such as mass produced t-shirts and shorts for example. There are, however, some more unique items on sale at the market which are made in the Northern Thai ‘Lanna’ style and these hand made products are worth paying a bit more money for as the quality is better.

The seafood restaurants are not cheap and nor are the Western style establishments such as the market’s long running Irish bar, O’Malley’s, where most dishes are priced in the 250 to 300 THB range which is about the same as you would be charged in Ireland for same food.
