There are two ways to travel from Krabi to Phuket.
- Option 1. You can travel by road.The journey by bus takes about 3 hours. Bus services depart from Krabi bus station, which is 2 km away from Krabi town and is easy to reach by shared taxi or private taxi from Ao Nang or Krabi town centre. Bus services from Krabi to Phuket leave frequently throughout the day. No need to book just turn up and buy a ticket for the next departure.
- Option 2. You can go by boat. If taking a 3 hour bus or taxi journey does not appeal to you, then the alternative is do the journey by ferry.

There is one service per day so it is advisable to book a ticket in advance as tickets can sell out quickly in high season. The crossing takes 5 hours 15 minutes on a modern comfortable boat. There are toilets, an outside seating area and a small shop selling drinks and food on board. The journey by boat is less stressful and more comfortable than travelling by bus.

Klong Jilard Pier in Krabi
The Chaokoh Ferry service from Krabi to Phuket departs from Klong Jilard pier, which is about 3.2 km south of the centre Krabi town. It can be reached either by shared taxi departing from Soi Maharaj near the Vogue Shopping centre or by taxi.

Boat services from Krabi arrive at Rassada Pier. Rassada Pier is 2.8 km away from the two minivan stations in Phuket Town and 7.6 km from the main bus station north of Phuket Town.
For onward travel by public transport to destination in Phuket first take a taxi or shared taxi to either a minivan station or to the main bus station.
