The larger Lomprayah boats have the best sundecks of any of the boats travelling from Koh Tao to Koh Phangan. The 15:30 departure can get very busy because it picks up the day trippers to Koh Nangyuan for the journey back to Koh Samui, where the boat stops after Koh Phangan. Booking is advisable. Option 2: Songsem
Songserm operates a large wooden ferry on the route between Koh Tao and Koh Phangan. The ferry has two decks with seating and an outside area, as well as toilets and a small shop on board. During the tourist high season Songserm also operates a speedboat service which takes 50 minutes to travel from Koh Tao to Koh Phangan.

Ferry Pier in Koh Tao
Mae Haad Pier is the main ferry pier on Koh Tao, and all major ferry services leave from here. Mae Haad Pier is near Sairee Beach where the island’s main town is also located. From other parts of the island you can travel to Mae Haad Pier by shared taxi or taxi boat.

Koh Phangan Ferry Port
Both ferry services arrive at Thong Sala Pier. Thong Sala is the main town in the South of the Koh Phangan. On arrival there are normally lots of shared taxis waiting to take people to all points on the island. The prices are fixed. Expect to pay around 300 THB for the trip from Thong Sala to Haad Rin and 400 THB to Thong Nai Pan. It will cost more if you want to hire the whole vehicle. There are also some hotels and resorts within a reasonable walking distance of Thong Sala Pier.
