Independent Travel from Koh Phangan to Krabi

For those who have time, but want to save money, take the Raja Ferry to Surat Thani City and from there take a minivan to Krabi.

This journey is slow, first you take the car ferry to Donsak (2 hours 30 minutes) then you must travel from Donsak to Surat Thani city (a 90 minute bus journey) in order to get a minivan or a bus. Minivans leave when they are full so sometimes there can be big delay.

The bus takes 5 hours to get from Surat Thani City to Krabi. Minibuses take around 4 hours. This makes a total travelling time of 8 to 9 hours, plus waiting times between connections increasing to the length of journey to 10 to 12 hours.

This service terminates at the Seatran Discovery office on Soi Seebaramee 1, which is just off Soi Maharaj and near the centre of Krabi Town. For onward travel in Krabi Province by public transport, including to Ao Nang, you can take a shared pick up truck taxi from a roadside taxi station near the Vogue Shopping centre on Soi Maharaj. From the Seatran Discovery it is only 500 metres walk to the shared taxi station on the Soi Maharaj road.

Lomprayah Service from Koh Phangan to Krabi

This service terminates outside the Lomprayah Office on the Krabi road, which is one of the main roads through Krabi Town. Many shared taxis, including ones which go to Ao Nang, stop near the Vogue Shopping centre on the Maharaj Road some 3.2 km away from the Lomprayah Office.

Phantip Travel service from Koh Phangan to Krabi

This service terminates stops first at the Krabi Sea Pearl Office, before carrying on to Ao Nam Pier and Ao Nang beach. The Krabi Sea Pearl Office is on the Utarakit Road 1.9 km north of the area near the Vogue Shopping Centre where minivans depart to destinations across Krabi Province.
