The Friday Hotel is a purpose built hotel on the top three floors of the Friday Department Store in Uttaradit town centre. This budget hotel is a popular choice for foreign visitors and business travellers to Uttaradit.
Good points about Friday Hotel
The Friday Hotel is excellent value for money. For 500 to 600 THB a night booked online you get to stay somewhere that is nearly a luxury hotel. If the Friday Hotel was in Central Bangkok you expect to pay at least 1,500 THB a night.

The Friday Hotel has great facilities. Uttaradit itself is not a town which get smany foreign visitors and there is a limited range of restaurants and bars, particularly places serving Western food or that stay open beyond 19:00 at night. The Friday Hotel has everything you need in terms of food and drink inside the hotel itself, and if you need to buy anything like medicine or clothes or nappies for children then very likely you can buy it in the department store under the hotel.
The service is good at the Friday Hotel. The reception desk is permanently staffed and there are plenty of staff on hand to quickly resolve any issues you have with the room. When we stayed we had some issues with the first room we stayed in and the staff came to resolve them immediately.
Rooms at Friday Hotel
The standard rooms at the Friday Hotel are to 14 to 16 sqm. This is adequate for one or two people. The hotel also has larger rooms with two double beds if you are travelling in a larger group.

You have the option of either a twin room or a double bed. The double bed we stayed in was comfortable and the bedding was high quality, especially considering that the Friday Hotel is a mid range hotel at economy prices. The rooms also had a small fridge and a TV with cable channels, all in the Thai language. The rooms were decorated to a good standard with good curtains.

The bathrooms at the Friday Hotel were particularly good. What we liked about them was that they had a separate shower area partitioned off by a curtain. Most budget hotels in Thailand have cramped bathrooms with showers that make the toilet area wet when you use them, but not the Friday Hotel.
Facilities at the Friday Hotel
To get into the Friday Hotel you need to go to the entrance at side of the Friday Department Store. There is a reception desk on the ground floor with an internal door leading into the department store where a full range of products are sold, including take away pizza and an on site chemist.

To access the Friday Hotel there are two lifts. The lifts ascend to the lower of the three floors of the hotel. On this lower level there is a separate smoking area, a large open plan dinning area and a bar where they host live music acts at the weekend and for functions. We eat at the restaurant twice, one in the evening and the second time for the buffet breakfast included in the room price. The restaurant has several menus and you can choose from including international dishes, Thai food, Japanese food and Italian dishes like pizza and pasta. The food is good and reasonably priced. The buffet breakfast was basic, with toast and Asian dishes as well as tea, coffee and juices.

The rooms are located on two floors above the restaurant level and there is a second set of lifts to these two upper levels. The hotel has been constructed with a central atrium so you can look down at the restaurant area from the balconies on the two accommodation levels. This is a great feature and it creates a feeling of space.
