The office where you need to check in before boarding bus services with the Lomprayah High Speed Ferry company is located at 145 on Soi Rambutri which is close (240 metres walking distance) to the eastern end of the Khao San Road. Unfortunately, this part of Bangkok is not yet connected to either the BTS (skytrain) or MRT (metro) system and you need to travel there by road.
Options for Travel from Don Mueang Airport to Soi Rambutri
There are four ways you can travel from Don Mueang Airport to Soi Rambutri:
- Option 1: A4 Shuttle Bus
- This service departs from the ground floor of the arrival terminal at Don Mueang Airport by exit 6.
- Cost 50 THB per person.
- Journey time 45 minutes to 2 hours.
- Bus every 30 minutes.
- Arrival point Khao San Road.
- Option 2: Limo Bus
- This service departs from the ground floor of the arrival terminal at Don Mueang Airport by exit 5.
- Cost 150 THB per person.
- Journey time 45 minutes to 2 hours.
- Departures every hour from 09.30 to 00.40.
- Arrival point Khao San Road.
- Option 3: Meter Taxi
- Queue for your meter taxi at the public taxi rank at the left hand side of the arrival terminal. The taxis are parked outside but you need to be allocated a taxi at the desk in the office.
- Cost 350 to 450 THB for up to 3 people. The fare is on the meter but the passenger will need to pay the Airport surcharge of 50 THB and road toll fees.
- Journey time 30 minutes to 1 hour.
- Available 24 hours a day.
- Travel direct to the Lomprayah Office.
- Option 4: Travel via Mo Chit BTS Station
- Step 1 take the A1 shuttle bus from the ground floor of the arrival terminal at Don Mueang Airport by exit 6 and travel on the bus to Mo Chit BTS station. This journey costs 30 THB which you pay on the bus and the journey takes 30 minutes.
- Step 2 alight from the bus at Mo Chit BTS and board the elevated light railway (skytrain) to Phaya Thai BTS station. The fare per person is 37 THB and the journey takes 10 minutes.
- Step 3 exit from Phaya Thai BTS station and flag down a meter taxi for the journey to the Lomprayah Office on Soi Rambutri. On the meter the fare should be around 80 to 120 THB and take between 20 to 30 minutes.

If you are travelling from the Airport between 16:00 and 19:00 then you can expect the journey by bus to the Khao San Road to take up to 2 hours and the journey by taxi to will take around an hour. The traffic will be bad at this time. If you are travelling alone during this time you might be best off trying Option 4 above using bus, skytrain and lastly taxi as it will be quicker than taking the bus the whole way and will cost you about half the price of taking a taxi direct from the airport.
