The Boonsiri High Speed Ferries bus to Koh Mak leaves from in front of the the Street Hostel on the Tanee Road (sometimes written ‘Tani’ Road) which runs parallel to the Khao San Road. The Khao San Road is about a 10 minute walk away.

Independent Travel from Bangkok to Koh Mak
The other travel route from Bangkok to Koh Mak is to take a bus from Morchit Bus Station (near Chatuchak Park) to the Eastern town of Trat. From Trat you then need to travel by shared taxi to the ferry pier for the last part of the journey to Koh Mak.

There is very little cost saving in travelling by bus via Trat, once you add up the cost of travel to the bus station in Bangkok, the price of the ticket, the transfer from Trat town to the ferry pier and the cost of the ferry ticket to Koh Mak, which is 450 THB.
