About Koh Chang

Koh Chang is a large island located in the east of Thailand close to the border with Cambodia. Koh Chang has lots of beaches and no major industry other than tourism. Koh Chang started to become popular with tourists from about 2000 and this popularity has grown now to the point where the cheap locally run run beach hut style resorts are starting to disappear be replaced by larger resorts run by investors who are not native to the Island. Koh Chang’s proximity to Bangkok (it’s much close than Phuket or Koh Samui) make Koh Chang popular with Thai people for short breaks from the big city.
