Buy Tickets at the Bus Station
Khon Kaen Bus Terminal 3 is a large station with two passenger terminals and large number of separate ticket offices. There is no single ticket office for all companies or all destinations. Each company has its own ticket office. A number of different companies will all provide services to popular destinations such as Bangkok, however, for destinations which have a lower level of passengers then normally only one bus company will provide bus services to that destination.

The best strategy for finding the right ticket office at Khon Kaen Bus Terminal 3 is trial and error. Go to one of the ticket offices and ask whether they have a bus going to your destination. If they say ‘no’ then ask them to point you to a ticket office which does. You will eventually get your bus ticket but a bit of perseverance is required. Unlike bus stations, such as Hat Yai Bus Station, which have large numbers of foreign visitors passing though, Khon Kaen Bus Terminal 3 gets fewer foreign visitors and they haven’t yet worked out how to accommodate non-Thai speaking customers particularly well. You may find it easier simply to book your tickets online before you go to the station.
