About Noppharat Thara Beach
Noppharat Thara Beach is 2 km long. At the eastern end of the beach there is a small headland separating Noppharat Thara Beach from Ao Nang Beach. At the western end of the beach is the mouth of the Son River where Noppharat Thara Pier is located. The western end of the beach borders the Hat Nappharat Thara-Mu Ko Phi Phi National Park and the area on the other side of the Son River is subject to strict regulations regarding land use and environmental protection which are not enforced on Noppharat Thara Beach itself.

The eastern end of Noppharat Thara Beach, which is closest to Ao Nang Beach, is very narrow. This part of the beach is also the busiest.

There is a short stretch of shops and restaurants at the eastern end of Noppharat Thara Beach. At the end of this short promenade of commercial premises is an outdoor bar which is very popular and a great place to sit and have a drink under the shade of trees with a view of the beach.

Beyond the shops and restaurants at the eastern of the beach the path goes through wide strip of trees. This area is a popular spot with local people who come for picnics at the weekend. Local people tend not spend their leisure time on Ao Nang Beach, because it is full of tourists, in favour of the more relaxed atmosphere of Noppharat Thara Beach.

The far western end of Noppharat Thara Beach is much quieter and the beach is a lot wider. This is the best place to come if you want a peaceful place to sunbathe within walking distance of Ao Nang.
