Every day at 13:00 there is a high speed ferry which departs from Pattaya City and arrives 2 hours later in Hua Hin, which is 2 to 3 hours quicker than driving from Pattaya to Hua Hin.
Ferry Times from Pattaya to Hua Hin
This long awaited service commenced in January 2017 and it has proved popular from the beginning. Seats are limited on this service and recommend that you book your tickets in advance of the day of travel to confirm your seat.

It is so simply and easy there is no reason to ever queue up to buy a ticket again or find that you are unable to travel because the ferry is full on the day you want to travel from Pattaya to Hua Hin because you decided not book in advance online.
About The Ferry
This service is operated by the Royal Passenger Liner Company under licence from Thailand’s Marine Department. Currently they have one ferry operating on the Pattaya to Hua Hin route with a capacity of 346 people in two cabins and separate VIP rooms:
- Standard Cabin: 286 seats
- Business Cabin: 44 seats
- VIP Rooms: 2 x 8 seats
The main difference between Standard and Business class is the space between the seats. You get a lot more legroom and a table if you travel in the Business cabin.

Vehicles on the Ferry
Before the ferry started there were rumours that the ferry service would carry motorbikes and cars. However, at the time of writing the Pattaya to Hua Hin ferry cannot carry motorbikes or cars. For the time being a single passenger ferry is being operated on the Pattaya to Hua Hin route. The ferry travels from Pattaya to Hua Hin at 13:00 and then departs for the return journey from Hua Hin at 15:45 and is scheduled arrive back in Pattaya at 18:00. There are plans to start operating a second larger ferry capable of carrying cars and motorbikes on the Pattaya to Hua Hin in the future but for the time being if you want to take a car between Pattaya and Hua Hin you will need to drive it yourself.

Travel by Road to Hua Hin
There are no direct flight connections between Pattaya and Hua Hin. Other than the ferry, the only way to currently travel between Pattaya and Hua Hin is by road. The journey by road is 324 km and takes 4 hours 23 minutes in a private car, or 6 hours 00 to travel by bus from Pattaya to Hua Hin.
