I had three main reasons for booking this hotel:
- Chaba Chalet is close to Hua Hin Railway Station (300 metres)
- Chaba Chalet is close to Hua Hin Night Market (250 metres)
- Chaba Chalet represents excellent value for money

Overall, we found it a great place to stay and I recommend it to anyone seeking a mid-range hotel is Hua Hin. It is conveniently close to both Hua Hin Train Station and Hua Hin Night Market. My only slight issue with the the hotel was the absence of a lift. We stayed on the third floor and at the time we visited I was carrying 2 suitcases and a large rucksack and I struggled to carry the luggage up to the room. I regretted not asking if they had a room free on a lower floor. Other than there being no lift I had absolutely no other complaints.
Facilities at Chaba Chalet
Chaba Chalet is 3 star hotel with a reception and restaurant area downstairs. There is no swimming pool or gym as this is more of a large guesthouse rather than a hotel, with a more friendly and relaxed atmosphere than you find in large hotels. The restaurant is inexpensive. In the mornings they provide a basic egg, toast and bacon or ham ‘American Breakfast’ with tea/coffee and juice included in the room rate. In the afternoon and evening they serve basic Thai and Western dishes as well as very cheap drinks: a beer in the Chaba Chalet restaurant costs only a little more than it does purchased from a convenience store.
Rooms at Chaba Hotel

The rooms were fairly large. They were clean and came with en-suite bathroom and satellite TV. There were English language channels on the TV and the free WiFi worked well during the time I was there. The room comes equipped with a fridge. The bed was fairly wide and soft. The downsides of this room were the absence of a safety box and tea/coffee making facilities. The rooms also have no balcony and smokers need to go downstairs as the rest of the hotel is strictly smoke free.
Value for Money
We paid 900 THB per night for our room at the Chaba Chalet. At this price we felt the hotel was excellent vaule for money. The rooms were nearly as good as the rooms in one of the larger branded hotels and the Chaba Chalet is close the train, which is very helpful for onward travel connections, and very close to Hua Hin Night Market, which is the most popular night time attraction in Hua Hin. Food and drink in the Night Market Area is a lot cheaper than at the restaurants and bars on the seafront in Hua Hin.
