SF Biz Hotel, Khon Kaen

The SF Biz Hotel is a 150 room hotel with extensive catering and entertaining facilities located near Khon Kaen Railway Station and the Chao Por Lak Muang Khon Kaen Shrine, in the centre of Khon Kaen City. As the name suggests, this is a hotel whose primary target audience is people wanting a short stay in a comfortable hotel near the central business district of Khon Kaen and the local transport links. For people travelling around Thailand who want a base in the city for a night or two then this is an ideal choice.

Good points about SF Biz Hotel

The first good point about the SF Biz Hotel is that it represents good value for money. I booked online for 585 THB per night and I got a city centre room which was 3 star standard, clean and well maintained with a comfortable bed. Budget price for a good standard hotel.

The second great thing about the SF Biz Hotel was the efficiency of the service. The reception desk is permanently staffed and my check-in took less than three minutes and my early morning check out took less than a minute. The hotel is professionally managed with effective computer systems that allowed the staff to very quickly find my online booking.

The third thing I like about the SF Biz Hotel was the room I stayed in. The room was quiet and had a small balcony which you can use to smoke or simply get some fresh air. I slept well and thought the climate control was good.

Rooms at the SF Biz Hotel

The beds at the SF Biz Hotel are comfortable with clean linen. There are four pillow provided which is good if you want to prop yourself up in bed to use a laptop or watch TV.

All the rooms at the SF Biz Hotel come with a fridge and cable TV. The only real fault I found with the room was the complete absence of English language channels. Fortunately, I could access Channel 29 which has a dual language function which you can operate using the menu function on the controller so you can watch films and series on this channel in English. 

The bathrooms at the SF Biz Hotel have a separate shower with a curtain. The shower had hot water and free shower gel and shampoo was provided.

The room also had a small balcony which was useful. There is not much of a view from these balconies but they do save smokers a long walk outside and they are a good place for drying clothes.

Facilities at the SF Biz Hotel

The SF Biz Hotel has a restaurant by the reception desk and a fridge with drinks available for purchase 24 hours a day. This restaurant is quiet, however, don’t be put off ordering food from the restaurant, or indeed room service, over concerns that lack of trade may mean bad food or old food. The hotel caters a lot of functions in a separate block and cooks a lot of meals every day.

The SF Biz hotel has two lifts, which is good because there are 7 floors of rooms and you wouldn’t want to have walk up and down all those stairs to get your room.

The only other facilities at the SF Biz Hotel are function rooms. The hotel caters weddings, other celebrations and business events. This is a large hotel and it would take a large conference to fill it, so it is unlikely that if you did come to stay you would find your stay being disturbed by a large group.
