About Travel to Koh Muk
Koh Muk is one of 4 popular small islands located off the coast of Trang Province.
Groups of Four Islands
Koh Muk is not the most beautiful of the 4 islands (the beach on Koh Kradan is arguably better), however, Koh Muk has the best accommodation and facilities and many people choose to stay in Koh Muk overnight whilst visiting the other islands.

Where to Stay in Koh Muk
Koh Muk is 4 km long by 3 km wide, with two main areas where visitors stay: Sivalai Beach and Garnet Beach. Sivalai Beach is the busier area with a wider range of accommodation, bars and restaurants, including the island’s luxury resorts. Garnet Beach is smaller with fewer resorts, and has more a backpacker style atmosphere that is reminiscent of how other Thai islands, such as Koh Samui, were before mass tourism.
Emerald Cave
The other thing Koh Muk is notable for is Morakot Cave, also known as Emerald Cave. Morakot Cave is a partially submerged sea cave that you need to swim through in order to reach a small lagoon with a beach which inaccesible on foot because it is enclosed by high limestone cliffs.
Morakot Cave is a major tourist attraction and day trippers from Phuket and Koh Lanta come in large numbers during the high season. An advantage of staying overnight on Koh Muk is that you can visit the cave before the day trippers arrive in the morning and after they depart from island later in the afternoon.
