About Travel to Koh Lipe
During the holiday season all speed boat and ferry services to Koh Lipe arrive into Pattaya Beach. Between about 08:30 and 16:00 every day Pattaya Beach becomes very busy with people arriving or departing from the island and for this reason Pattaya Beach isn’t the best place to stay on Koh Lipe. However, Koh Lipe is such a small island, measuring approximately 1.8 km at its widest by 3 km long, you can easily walk to the other beaches. Cutting across the centre of the island is Koh Lipe’s main street, known as Walking Street, which is where most of the island’s restaurants, bars and shops are located. The Southern entrance to Walking Street is on Pattaya Beach, and Walking Street goes alomost all the way to Sunrise Beach, which is generally considered the best beach on Koh Lipe and the premier place to stay.

What Koh Lipe is popular for is its beaches and the brightly coloured, and extremely clear, coastal waters. Koh Lipe is often described as ‘Thailand’s’ Maldives’ for this reason. The clearest water is found on the Eastern Side of the island on Sunrise Beach and Bulow Beach. From both beaches you can see the nearby large uninhabited island of Koh Adang and some smaller islands that you can reach by kayak from the beach. The other beaches on the island are also worth visiting, particularly Sunset Beach on the North West cost of Koh Lipe which is a popular place to go for a drink late in the afternoon. Other than visit the beaches in the day time, and the bars and restaurants at night, other popular activities in Koh Lipe include scuba diving and boat tours around the neighbouring islands.
