About travel to Phuket
Bus services from Trang to Phuket terminate at the main long distance bus terminal for the island, which is just under 5 km by road from Phuket Town. Phuket Town has become a tourist destination in its own right over the last 5 years in particular. The town’s historic quarter and interesting history are main cultural attractions in Phuket. What Phuket Town does not have, however, is a beach and most visitors to the island will want to stay at one of the beach resorts on the west side of the island which is where the best sand beaches are located, as well as the best hotels and restaurants, and the most lively evening entertainment. Taxis are always available at Phuket Bus Terminal 2, but they are relatively expensive and unless you have lots of luggage, small children or difficulties walking moderately short distances, you can take much less expensive public transport options.

The cheapest way to travel from Phuket Bus Terminal 2 to other destinations in Phuket is to first travel to Phuket Bus Terminal 1, which is a terminal for local bus and minivan services to destinations across Phuket.
