I am curious. there seems to be a lot of stuff written on the internet about Beer Garden on street 7 in Sukhumvit. What is so great about it?

Beer Garden on Soi 7 Sukhumvit Road is a large and popular bar. They serve food, bottled beer, and other drinks at about average prices. They also show sport on large screen TVs.
Long Running Bar
This is the same as numerous other bars in Bangkok. What makes it Beer Garden popular is that it has been around for a long time and has a loyal following. It is also a bit larger than other establishments in the area.
Pick Up Bar
The other thing that makes it popular is that it is a well known ‘pick up’ bar for Western men (generally middle age) to meet Thai women. It is not a brothel or indeed a place where Thai women work entertaining men or dancing. A large number of Thai women do though come in every night looking to meet Western men. Most are motivated by financial gain. A smaller proportion are simply looking for a Western partner. And an even smaller proportion come here on a night out for fun.
You Can Still Drink in Peace
If you go you generally won’t be hassled by working girls as you might in other bars in the area. If you catch a ‘girl’s eye’ she may come over for a chat and a drink with you, or you may choose to go over to her. On the Bangkok scale of things this is fairly innocent and a more problem free way to meet Thai women.
Will You Find Your True Love Here?
You are unlikely to find your true love at this bar, but on the other hand you won’t have some bar girl screaming at you because you didn’t pay her money for the pleasure of talking to her for 10 minutes. This often happens to Western men elsewhere in Bangkok and particularly in Pattaya and Patong Beach in Phuket.
