The best option I have found is the reasonably priced Louis Tavern Hotel.
The Rooms Are Nice
The rooms are nice and cost around 1,445 THB a night. There is a nearby 7-Eleven and the restaurant in the hotel is fairly cheap for tasty Thai food. The staff were nice and they understood enough English to take my order and understand that I didn’t want the top taken off the beers I had ordered because I wanted to take them to the room.
The excellent Louis Tavern near Don Mueang AirportThere are no English language channels on the TV, but the WiFi is good so you can do what I did which is watch films on YouTube on my laptop.
Short Taxi Journey to the Airport
It is a short ride in a taxi to the departure gate. Last time I was there it was easy to flag down a meter taxi at 06.00 in the morning. There were several taxis parked near to the hotel waiting for passengers.
The Other Budget Hotels in The Area are difficult to find
Your other budget options in the area are really basic and difficult for taxis to find. If you want something better then try the Amari Don Muang Airport Hotel which is more expensive at around 2,300 THB a night. The advantage of staying at the Amari Don Muang Airport hotel, which is very nice, is that it is physically connected to the Airport terminal by a bridge. No taxi is required to get from the Amari Don Muang Hotel to the departure hall in the airport.
