I am staying for one night in Nongkhai before crossing the bridge into Laos. Any thoughts on where to go and eat?

Nongkhai is blessed with an abundance of good restaurants. The competition is clearly driving up standards.
Noi and Brendan’s Restaurant
If you only have one night then head down to the riverside night market and enjoy a meal and few beers at Noi and Brendan’s. They serve good Thai and Western food. It is popular with both the locals and the tourists partly because it is located on the river front and partly because the food they serve is damn good and cheap.

Thai dishes cost 50 to 100 THB. The Western food ranges in price from 150 THB for sausage and mash to 280 THB for steak.
